The Karnataka cabinet planned to advise Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot to sanction the prosecution of Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy for his alleged involvement in the 2007 illegal mining case. The Special Investigation Team of the Karnataka Lokayukta sought the governor's permission to file a chargesheet.
